Lactation Support

Lactation Consultation

Breastfeeding can be instinctual and uncomplicated. But for many reasons, you may need extra help. As an IBCLC, I provide the highest standard of evidence-based lactation care. Babies are born to learn and your breasts were made to feed. From pregnancy to weaning, I am here to guide you.

The Lactation Network (TLN) is able to check your insurance policy and pre-approve services before you initial consultation. TLN currently works with some insurers to ensure that you receive 6 or more lactation care sessions at no cost. Click here to learn more and request a consultation with ReWoven (listed as 'Lactation and Mother Care') through TLN.

I prefer to see you in the comfort of your own home, but I offer virtual care as well.
Initial Call In-Home Evaluation Follow-up Strongly recommended for: new baby, slow weight gain, nipple trauma, breast exam, infant oral assessment Virtual Care Best for: uncomplicated intakes, experienced mom, older established infant, and uncomplicated follow-ups

After intake, messaging for reassurance, clarification, or additional questions is welcomed and complimentary. Messaging is available through email, secure messaging, or on the private ReWoven Facebook page.

An initial consult typically lasts 90 minutes and involves: mom's health history, discussion of pregnancy, labor and delivery, breastfeeding history, observation of latch and feeding, pre and post feeding weights, full and gentle oral assessment of your baby, breast exam as needed, troubleshooting and adjustments. I can also assist you with pumping, bottle feeding, and supplementation if needed. After assessment, you should feel assured, empowered, and nurtured. I will provide you with a plan to follow for the coming days, and will be available to you with ongoing support.

  • I will see you in the comfort of your own home, allowing you and your baby to relax and me to observe what a 'typical' feeding looks like.
  • After your initial consultation, I will provide you with a plan that will support your unique goals and needs.
  • I will provide a thorough assessment of your baby, your breasts, and latch. When I leave, you will have a more comfortable latch, a care plan, a superbill for insurance, and a letter for your pediatrician.

A follow-up visit, either virtually or in your home, is recommended to assure things are going well for you and your baby. Additionally, each stage of infant development can present new breastfeeding challenges. I will be available to support you for your full journey - from birth to weaning. It is a pleasure to check in, and I love the opportunity to hear about your successes and see your baby grow!

Emergent visits - if you need to be seen right away, please call or text me and I will respond as soon as I am able. An emergent issue might be severe engorgement, pain that prevents you from feeding, or a baby that does not latch. I may be able to walk you through it over the phone, otherwise we will schedule an appointment right away.
